We continue our March recognition with Madison Whitfield

Madison grew up in the MVFC family. At a very young age, you would catch Madison running around the fire station with her parents. She spent many late nights at our weekly bingo that occurred every Wednesday of each month and also the first Saturday of each month during the summer months. During our lawn party and other fundraisers, you would see Madison running around with other members children. As a small child, you would see her riding through the Lawn party parades on the fire department float with the other “fire children”. Both of Madison’s parents volunteered with the department. Her dad was a member for many years.
Madison stayed interested in fire and rescue through the years following in her dad’s footsteps. Madison joined MVFC at 16 years old in November 2014. When she was of age, she took firefighter 1 and 2, Hazmat ops, EMT through Massanutten Technical Center, Instructed by Lt. Jolene Powell, during her junior and senior year of high school. In 2015 she was awarded Rookie of the year. In 2016 she was awarded Firefighter of the year. She has and still does dedicate majority of her time at the fire station. When she graduated in 2016 at 18 years old, she got her first career job at Page County EMS. She worked with Page County EMS from May 2017 until March 2022.
In 2019, Madison became a Lieutenant of the department. She was a Lieutenant from 2019-2022. In March 2022, Madison became employed with Warren County Fire/Rescue starting as a part time employee. She became a fulltime employee in July 2022. She obtained her Swift Water in September 2022, Driver/Pump Operator (DPO) in October 2022 through Warren County
You can catch her running calls, at fundraising activities or just hanging around the station. In her Spare time, you will find her spending time with family and friends or with four little children she thinks the world of, ( Joslyn, Preston, Mackley, Brixxley). Madison is also a Member of Stanley Volunteer Fire Department Auxiliary where you can find her working meals and other fundraisers when she is not at MVFC.
