I receive "close calls" via email and was very saddened to learn of the tragic death of one of your own. May I offer my sincere condolences to your organization and to FF Smith's family on behalf of someone involved in the fire service for 22 years.

However, it's times such as this that remind us of the true brotherhood in which we are a part and represent. Makes department politics and personal differences seem minute. Bless you all!

You are in our thoughts through this hard time; being a fire chief I have been in your shoes. Our dept. lost one of our own 10 yrs ago yesterday, he was a close friend and he is dearly missed. I was one of roy smith buddies in school and im just saying that im so sorry for youlls loss and as a volunteer firefighter I respect his family in saying he was a very nice and generious friend. I know that company is missing him and will miss him for he was a great firefighter and he loved what he did in helping the community.

Nice website. Lived in Pineville a long time ago. Remember the school fire, was just a youngster then. I have a son who is in the fire explorer program here & wants to be a fireman when he is old enough. Nice to visit sites of where I still consider home. Keep up the good work.
