We continue Women's History Month recognition with Sierra Murray.

Sierra became a member of MVC in October of 2021, she was new to the fire service but that did not slow her down. Determined and eager to learn you could find Sierra at the fire station training with fellow members and getting to know them. This encouraged her to further her knowledge and in January 2022 started a 4 month EMT course. Upon completion she brought this knowledge to the field by running more calls with the fire company and utilizing these skills.

Sierra hasn't stopped there and in June 2022 Sierra became employed with Rockingham County Fire and Rescue. She was sent through a Recruit Academy, a 6 month rigorous training program that would teach her the skills to become a firefighter.
Even during training Sierra you could still find Sierra at the fire company in the evening running calls and training on topics she learned from class and fellow members.

Within a short time Sierra has obtained numerous certifications and has accomplished a lot. She continues to dedicated a majority of her free time to MVFC running calls, training, fund raising and socializing. When not at work or MVFC you can catch Sierra hiking, working out and spending time with family and friends.
