Today marks the 14th year since a tragic accident took the life of one of our own in the line of duty. Roy Dale Smith III lost his life in a traffic crash while responding to an early morning structure fire. Roy was a promising young fire fighter with aspirations of becoming a career firefighter. His involvement with the Mid Atlantic Regional burn camp came from his time spent there after being burned as a child. This helped to steer Roy toward his love for the fire service.

A long time has passed but we still remember you Roy, and we ask that you continue to keep watch over us!
