A Message From the President

 Welcome to the McGaheysville Fire Company on-line. We are located in eastern Rockingham County, Virginia on US route 33 (Spotswood Trail). We have been serving the community since March of 1965. Our first due area covers 55 square miles and a population of 7200 people. In the past our area was the typical rural agricultural, small unicorporated town type community.

Over the last ten to fiftteen year our community has seen moderate growth like many communities, small subdivisions has replaced what was once farm land with picturesque green meadows and rolling wood lands situated under the shadow of the beautiful Massanutten Mountain.

The Four Seasons Massanutten Resort, brings a large influx of residents and visitors into our first due area also. The resort continues to grow at a fast pace along with the subdivisions and industry in our surrounding area.

Our industries include the Miller Coors Brewing Company, Cave Hill Mechanical Corporation, and Atlantic Fabritech Tank Company. We also have a number of small and large agricultural operations, native to our area.

McGaheysville Fire Company operates 3 fire engines, 1 ladder truck, 1 brush truck and several SERV units along with a utility piece. The Virginia Department of Forestry also houses their fire dozer at our station.

Providing our community with fire and emergency medical services takes a large amount of money and volunteer time to maintain up to date training and state of the art equipment. While a small part of our funding comes from Rockingham County, we rely on our weekly Bingo games, annual lawn party, fund drives and a few other fund raising events throughout the year to support our company.

The most valuable asset we have is the many dedicated volunteers who give and have given large amounts of time and energy both now, and in the past, which has made us a sucessful volunteer fire company.
